Round Bowen Race

Saturday was the 8th Annual Round Bowen Race with many BCKCers taking part in the event. John and Ben proudly showed off their Burnaby green race singlets with the double kayak champions trophy. The following BCKCers took part:

The course around Bowen Island took the paddlers through a wide variety of conditions starting with a headwind while travelling against the current, then a headwind travelling with the current, then flat calm with no current, then flat calm travelling against the current, then finally a tailwind with no current. The only consistent factor during the race was the HEAT!!!

For those who've never been to the Bowen event, the islanders are well known for the apres race delicious salmon BBQ feast complete with beverages and hot tub.
