About Burnaby Canoe & Kayak Club (BCKC)
Take the biggest lake in the center of the Lower Mainland. Add
sweeping views of the North Shore Mountains, a bird watching area
right next door and a 10 kilometer walking/run trail around the
lake. Finish it off with a pinch of beavers and a touch of herons
and eagles. This is the setting against which we offer paddling
programs for all ages and all levels.
BCKC is a non-profit organization that services our community with
flatwater canoe and kayak opportunities, in a safe and positive
environment lead by nationally certified coaches. We are supported
by a committed group of members who volunteer their time and energy
to share our passion for paddling. BCKC is a member of the provincial
sport organization Canoe
Kayak BC and the national sport organization Canoe
Kayak Canada.
The Burnaby Canoe and Kayak Club is located at the west end of
Burnaby Lake and offers programs
for people age 8 and older:
Don’t think you have to be a racer to benefit from membership
to Burnaby Canoe & Kayak Club; we have a variety of canoes and
kayaks to allow our members to enjoy paddling on Burnaby Lake and
Still Creek. Click here to find out how
we recommend new paddlers get started in the sport and what BCKC
can offer new paddlers.
