2026 Youth Summer Camps

Burnaby Canoe & Kayak Club is excited to announce the return of CanoeKids Summer Day Camps for 2026, offering children aged 7-12 a fun, active, and skill-building summer experience on the water.

Running Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm, CanoeKids camps take place at Burnaby Lake, with daily drop-off and pick-up at the Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavilion. Optional after-camp care is available until 3:00pm for families who require late pick-up.

Throughout the week, campers are introduced to the fundamentals of canoeing and kayaking under the guidance of trained and certified instructors. Programming combines on-water paddling sessions with off-water games and activities, helping participants build confidence, teamwork, and a connection to the outdoor environment. Activities are designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and safe for both beginner and returning paddlers.

CanoeKids camps emphasize:

• Paddle skill development in canoes and kayaks

• Water safety and basic outdoor education

• Active play, teamwork, and confidence-building

• A welcoming and inclusive camp environment

Campers should bring their own lunch, water bottle, and outdoor clothing, including weather-appropriate gear and sun protection. Each participant will receive a CanoeKids camp t-shirt, included with registration.
