Our Intro to Sprint program is the perfect way for youth and adults to try sprint canoe and kayak in a fun, safe, and team-oriented environment at Burnaby Lake.
This program is designed for beginners with no previous paddling experience. Participants will learn the fundamentals of canoeing and kayaking while building confidence on the water and having fun with our coaches and team.
All sessions are led by nationally certified coaches who focus on safety, skill development, and creating a positive first experience in the sport.

This program is the first step in our athlete development pathway and is a great introduction to sprint canoe and kayak.
After completing the Intro to Sprint program, participants may choose to continue into our Youth Competitive or Adult programs.
Ages: 10-17 years old & 18+
Experience: Beginners welcome. No previous paddling experience required
Location: Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavilion
| Youth Introductory (U18) | Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm —May through September |
| Adult Introductory (18+) | Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15pm to 7:45pm — May through September |
Sessions: 4 Intro to Paddling sessions
Fees: $120 for 4 sessions (includes $40 Affiliate Membership fee covering insurance)
The $40 Associate Membership fee will be credited toward future programs if you continue paddling with the club.
